A 66-year-old is dead following a vehicle vs. pedestrian hit-and-run in Glendale.
Just after 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, Glendale police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at the 4400 block of Olive Avenue. The pedestrian, a 66-year-old male police are not identifying publicly, was located and pronounced deceased on scene.
The suspect vehicle did not remain at the sight of the collision.
Witnesses to the offense followed the hit-and-run vehicle, a white Chevrolet Malibu, where they were able to obtain a license plate and observe the driver, identified as 54-year-old Christopher Allan, exit the vehicle to view the damage on his car. The witness then returned to the scene to speak with police.
The Glendale Police Department Real Time Crime Center was able to locate the vehicle and follow it to a local business. Allen was located within the business where he was taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to arrest, police allege that Allan was found to have cocaine in his pocket.
Allan was booked on charges of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
