The city of Glendale announced a call for artists to design, fabricate, and install unique and captivating artwork for the Downtown Campus Reinvestment Project, an initiative aimed at transforming and revitalizing the city’s downtown area.
This call invites professional artists or teams of artists to submit proposals that will contribute to the aesthetic and cultural landscape of the project. The selected artwork will play an integral role in enhancing the city’s identity and creating a visually dynamic environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.
The art installation will be located on the south building façade of City Hall, facing Glendale Avenue.
The selected artist(s) will be expected to work with the city, the architect of record, and community stakeholders to create a meaningful art piece that will enhance this newly renovated building and enhances Glendale’s identity.
“This campus will serve as a focal point for business, community engagement, and public interaction as we strengthen our efforts to activate Downtown Glendale as a unique cultural, business, and entertainment district within the city,” Christopher Taylor, the city’s arts and culture administrator, shared in a press release.
The call is open to professional artists and artist teams 18 years or older. Local and regional artists are especially encouraged to apply.
