Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers will partner with local sponsors to host the Mayor's Military Induction Ceremony.
Military officials and community organizations will salute the decision made by local high school students to enlistment in the military. Recruits will be honored with a ceremonial stole and receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
The event goes from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 12 online on the Mayor’s YouTube channel here.
The ceremony will also include the ceremonial administering of the military oath and a musical tribute.
The keynote address will be given by General Robin Rand, USAF (Ret.), a four-star general and former commander of Luke Air Force Base. Venton Blandin, an ABC15 reporter in Phoenix, who joined the United States Marine Corps in 1998 and received an honorable discharge as a Corporal, will act as the event’s master of ceremonies.
