First, the COVID-19 pandemic spoiled any public celebration of Gilbert's centennial in 2020.
Now it even has reached out to postpone a much-belated celebration of that centennial.
The Gilbert Symphony Orchesta is looking for a new date for its performance to belatedly mark the town's centennial. It had been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts.
A COVID-19 case is the cause of the postponement, according to the orchestra's website.
The orchestra will make information on a new date and venue available as soon as possible.
The program included Sousa's "A Century of Progress" and Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" among the six pieces scheduled for the performance.
