Gilbert Police looking for tips on overnight hit-and-run

The Gilbert Police Department is asking for the public’s help on an early morning hit-and-run at Warner and Lindsay roads.

Gilbert Police and Gilbert Fire and Rescue responded to a call at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, where a driver reported finding an injured man in the roadway on Warner Road just east of Lindsay Road, Gilbert Police spokesperson Brenda Carrasco said.

The 58-year-old man was located unconscious and with injuries consistent with having been hit by an unknown vehicle between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., Carrasco said.

Gilbert Fire and Rescue responded and rendered medical care to the man before transporting him to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Carrasco said.

Anyone with information for the investigation is asked to call the Gilbert police non-emergency line at 480-503-6500 or to submit information through its online tip site.

The roadway was closed until 7 a.m. while Gilbert police’s traffic reconstruction team conducted its investigation, which remains ongoing.
