TUCSON — The Arizona Rattlers won their third straight game on Saturday night, grinding out a 38-32 victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls at the Boneyard.
Rattlers starting quarterback Dalton Sneed did not start the game or play in the contest as Garrett Kettle went all the way, leading the Rattlers to their 4th win of the season after a 1-3 start. Kettle was 11-for-20 for 138 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Shannon Brooks again led the Rattlers ground attack, rushing for 77 yards and 2 scores on the night. Jamal Miles added one rushing TD.
Miles also caught one touchdown as did Glen Gibbons Jr.
Defensively, Connor Taylor led the Rattlers with eight tackles. Jamiyus Pittman and Kevin Simes Jr. notched one sack each.
Tucson (1-5) was led by QB Mylik Mitchell with four total TDs (3 passing, 1 rushing).
The game was close throughout. Arizona's Devontae Merriweather recovered a late onside kick to seal the victory.
Arizona (4-3) returns home to Glendale on Saturday, May 18 for a 6:05 p.m. matchup with the Bay Area Panthers.
