The Gilbert Police Department has implemented a new emergency alert system, RAVE Alerts, a system obtained for the 81 public safety answering points in Arizona.
A public-safety answering point, or PSAP, is a type of call center where the public's telephone calls for first responders (such as police, fire department, or emergency medical services/ambulance) are received and handled.
RAVE Alerts will be used by 9-1-1 centers to notify the public during emergencies, including incidents of severe weather, public-safety concerns, traffic alerts, missing persons, evacuations, etc.
RAVE Alerts are a free service that allows users to sign up online to receive customized alerts via text message, email, and voice message and are available to anyone who lives, works, travels through, or visits Gilbert.
The address can be the user's home location, work location, or any other location that may be important to you.
This service is provided by the Gilbert PD at no cost to the public; however, message and data rates may apply.
