Gilbert will honor America's fallen military heroes this Memorial Day with a free community event, tribute banners and water tower lighting.
All Gilbert municipal offices will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 29. Trash and recycling collection service schedules will continue as scheduled, despite the holiday.
Ceremony
HD South and Gilbert are hosting a free Memorial Day ceremony from 8:30-10 a.m. May 29 at Gilbert Civic Center, 50 E. Civic Center Drive.
The event will feature a flag and wreath ceremony, POW/MIA table, a performance from the National Guard band, and more.

Banners
Military tribute banners have been hung along Gilbert Road in the downtown Heritage District to honor current and past service members. The banners feature the honoree’s photo, service branch, rank, service dates, family name and more.
The banners will be displayed through July 4 and again from mid-October to mid-November for Veterans Day.

Water Tower
The Gilbert Water Tower will be lit red, white and blue in observance of Memorial Day on May 29.
Residents can stop by the Water Tower Plaza anytime after sundown to observe the lights. Gilbert offers free parking hroughout downtown.
