Gilbert, Higley districts have addressed cell phone law

Gilbert Public Schools and Higley Unified School District are unlikely to be largely affected by a new state law limiting cell phones in the classroom.

Both districts have already addressed the issue.

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs on April 14 signed into law House Bill 2484, which requires public school districts and charter schools to adopt policies limiting student access to social media and wireless devices — while preserving reasonable access for emergencies, medical needs and educational use, according to a release from State Rep. Beverly Pingerelli, R-Peoria, the bill’s sponsor.
