Gilbert begins program regulating short-term rentals

Posted

Gilbert property owners will be required to obtain and maintain a license for all short-term rentals and vacation properties.

The town is partnering with GovOS to launch a new short-term rental licensing process and roll out several new resources for the community, including a 24/7 questions-and-complaint hotline (1-888-751-1911) and online complaint form, according to a release.

Short-term rental property owners will have access to a portal where they can manage their rental property, and all property owners located next to a short-term property will receive emergency contact information for that rental property via mail.

New Fees for Short-Term Property Owners

To assist in monitoring short-term rentals, Gilbert is introducing a new fee structure for short-term rental property owners, which includes:

  • A $100 registration fee.
  • A $100 rolling annual renewal fee.

Registering A Short-Term Property

Property owners will receive a registration letter from GovOS via mail that contains an account number and directions on how to register and receive a license.

Property owners who have not received a registration letter can request one via email at blt.str.support@govos.com.
