George A. Watson

George, 88, formerly of Apache Junction, Arizona, died peacefully in his sleep on July 27, 2023.
Born of Dale County, Alabama, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Watson Howard and Robert Watson.
George retired as an Air Force Master Sargeant with 21 years of Active-Duty service. After his retirement from the Air Force, he moved to Rome, NY with his family.
During that time, he was a Receiving Manager for Rite Aid Distribution Center. He finished his civilian career working at Griffiss AFB, NY as a Civil Servant in the Supply network.
George was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by: his wife, Helen E. Cook Myers Watson, two loving daughters, Lisa Briley (Ron), Bonnie Schallermeir (Armin), his brother James Watson, and his brother and best friend, Willie “Pete”Watson.
He is also survived by five step-children, Bonnie Coluccio (Ed), Kathleen Gibbs (David), Wendy Schreiber (Jeff), Deborah Myers, and Jeff Myers (Jennifer), 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held, proudly, at Arlington National Cemetery with full Military Honors at a date to be later announced.
