APACHE JUNCTION - George A. Schultz passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011. George survived tragedy early in his upbringing in Lafayette, Ind., he survived serving his country in World War II , he survived decades of dangerous work as a Union Ironworker, building the basic infrastructure of dams and bridges across Arizona. He survived 100's of calls into the Superstition Mountains as a Search and Rescue volunteer whose service was so exceptional it was recognized by proclamation from both President George Bush and Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. And now after surviving for 83 years with his integrity as a man humbly fulfilled, he is survived by his daughter Julie and son Jerry, their children and their children's children. His determination and commitment to detail was expressed in his skill as a craftsman, outdoorsman, and master story teller. His legacy is as honest as it comes and his loyalty to his family and country never in doubt.
