INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Arizona troopers and police ended a chase in Chandler Tuesday night that began with an attempted traffic stop near Casa Grande.
At about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, an Arizona Department of Public Safety sergeant tried to pull over a vehicle for moving and equipment violations on westbound Interstate 10 near Casa Grande, according to DPS.
After the trooper turned on his car’s emergency lights and siren, the driver of the vehicle sped away, and a pursuit began.
A DPS trooper successfully put down a stop stick at milepost 170 and a member of the Gila River Police Department did the same at milepost 167 near Riggs Road in Chandler.
Another trooper used a grappler device on the vehicle, stopping it at milepost 162 at Sunset Road/Wild Horse Pass Boulevard in Chandler.
After the vehicle was stopped, the driver ran away. Troopers caught and arrested the unidentified suspect who was booked into the Pinal County Jail.
