Free musical performance in Glendale for Black History Month

The Live@the Library music series in Glendale celebrates Black History Month with a free performance from Driftwood Quintet.

The Tempe-based quintet will take guests on a tour of the historical contributions Black musicians have made to vocal music, starring vocalists Rodney Sharp, baritone, and Yophi Bost, lyric soprano. Enjoy opera by the 18th-century Black virtuoso Joseph Bologne (Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges), Black musical theatre with selections from “The Wiz,” and jazz and pop arrangements of the works of Black female artists.

To mark the evening before Valentine's Day, themes of love will weave throughout the program.

The concert is funded by a City of Glendale Performing Arts Grant.
