BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Glendale gathering to celebrate Black culture, businesses

More than 30 vendors expected at Rose Lane Park

More than 30 vendors from Black-owned businesses are expected to celebrate Black History Month at the Vendors Extravaganza in Glendale.

The event, presented by the Black Business Owners Coalition of Glendale, goes from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 at Rose Lane Park, 5003 W. Marlette Ave.

“It really is digging into the professional development of Black-owned businesses in our community, as well as organizations that are affiliated with the African-American community,” said Marcia Garland, who is organizing the gathering on behalf of the Coalition. “It is as vital as it is to the other cultures and races.”
