Fred F. Canfield

Fred F. Canfield, Jr., of Sun City, AZ, died at his son's home in Carson City, NV on November 27, 2017 at the age of 94 years.  He was born October 25, 1923 in Lansing, Michigan to Fred and Bertha (Wood) Canfield.He was a World War II Veteran serving in England with the 95th Bomb Group in the Eighth Air Force.He married Doreen Stockwell June 23, 1945. He worked most of his life in construction and became a general contractor.  In retirement he and Doreen enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel around the country.  He loved to play horseshoes and won many tournaments.He was preceded in death by his parents, Doreen, his wife of 69 years, and five siblings. He is survived by daughters Julee Nelson of Gunnison, CO, Terry (George) Amaral of Castro Valley, CA, Janean (David) Hansen of Simi Valley, CA and son William (Shannan) Canfield of Carson City, NV;  five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.The immediate family is planning a private memorial in the spring.
