Frank R. Henry, 80, passed on July 9, 2017 in Sun City, AZ, after a lengthy illness. Frank was born Nov. 11, 1936 in Dayton, OH.He served in the Army from 1955 to 1967 and worked at the nation's first nuclear power plant in Ft. Belvoir, VA. Upon separation from service, Frank moved his family to Rockford, IL and began a career as an HR manager with Sundstrand. In 1985, he transferred to Glendale, AZ until his retirement in 1988.Notable events is Frank's life include learning principles of flight from Orville Wright, becoming a state ranked tennis player at Oakwood High School, OH and obtaining his glider pilot license at age 50. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sonja Burke Henry; daughters Lisa, Susan, and Sarah; granddaughters Elizabeth, Abigail, and Holly; and grandson, Christian.He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Thompson Henry; his brother, John; sister, Ethel James; and son, Robert Huston Henry.His memorial service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Church of the Nazarene, 14636 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ.In lieu of flowers, donations to The Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter, 1028 E. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85006 are appreciated.
