Arizona Theatre Company is kicking off the holiday season with “Scrooge! The Musical,” an adaptation of the Oscar-nominated film “Scrooge,” and created by Oscar-winning, Grammy-winning, and Tony-nominated composer Leslie Bricusse.
The production runs from Dec. 9 to Dec. 30 at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway. Leading the cast is Tony Award-winning actor Shuler Hensley.
The show follows Ebenezer Scrooge as he goes on a fantastical journey through his life over the course of a single Christmas Eve night. “‘Scrooge! The Musical’ is a fresh take on a beloved holiday classic, Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’,” Matt August, Arizona Theatre Company artistic director, shared in a press release. “This season, we’re thrilled to welcome Valley residents to enjoy a production that is sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit.”
