Starting today, Florence sanitation customers have a new landfill site.
The new landfill is open 6 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday, and located at 5452 E. Hunt Highway. It is open to residents with a current Florence trash and recycling account. The landfill is not open to home-based businesses or landscapers.
Residents are asked to bring a recent utility bill and a driver’s license to access the location. Renters or those who do not receive a trash bill should go to finance customer service at Florence Town Hall to receive a “dump pass.”
Residents can bring standard bulk items, but no hazardous waste is allowed at the site. Customers can deposit up to 5 tones of bulk trash per month, 18 times a year. The town states that residents should increase their “pre-trip volume and reduce your number of trips whenever possible to help control costs and avoid future price increases.”
