Family Promise of Greater Phoenix honors one of its own

Scottsdale-based Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, which works to keep families in danger of becoming homeless off the streets, recently renamed its Bellview living facility Cheryl’s House and established the Cheryl Chewning Memorial Fund.

The memorial fund will support two families annually as they transition from homelessness to stability, according to a press release.

Chewning served Family Promise of Greater Phoenix for 18 years and passed away in May 2025. She was frequently the first point of contact for families seeking help during moments of crisis.
