The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has named Chris White its new director of sales and marketing.

He replaces Pam Gilbert, who retired last month, at the AAA Five Diamond hotel, according to a press release.

“I am excited to join an iconic property like the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. The property, leadership, team and culture are all second to none, and I’m excited to continue to build the resort’s legacy into the future,” White said in the release.

In his new role, White will head up sales, marketing, public relations, conference and event services, a significant set of responsibilities at a high output resort like the Princess. White is skilled in managing messaging and sales strategies for luxury hotel and resort openings, renovations and rebranding - all while putting people first.

“Chris has a wealth of experience, creativity and of course an expert knowledge of hospitality sales and marketing. He fits our well established team perfectly, understands our culture and is ready to build on the success of the Princess as we move into the future,” Jack Miller, regional vice president and general manager of the Princess said in the release.

Prior to coming to the Princess, White was director of sales and marketing at the Four Seasons Minneapolis, where he lead sales and marketing efforts to open the 222 room luxury hotel. His resume includes serving as director of sales and marketing for the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, earning Sales Leader of the Year at the St. Regis Princeville Resort, leading a large-scale suite renovation for Four Seasons Resort Hualalai and driving global growth at Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, White has a long career in hospitality, spanning from Hawaii to Whistler, Canada and now in Arizona.

White is married with two children, and his family is looking forward to making the Phoenix area their home. He enjoys outdoor activities, from camping to hiking to golfing to hockey. He has competed in four triathlons and three half marathons, and counts the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a charity he is passionate about.
