CAMBRIDGE - Elizabeth J. Turner passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Cambridge on Nov. 26, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Sewell S. and Helen Wrightson Jones. Mrs. Turner graduated from Cambridge High School. On March 11, 1939, she married Charles Rutledge Turner, who passed away on Dec. 13, 2006. She worked with her husband at Turner's Gas Company. Mrs. Turner enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and camping. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Donna James; and a son, Charles Rutledge Turner, Jr., both of Cambridge; a grandson, Michael James and wife, Natalie Brewer-James, of Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
