East Valley town sees improvement in efforts to mitigate youth issues

Gilbert officials say the town is making measurable progress in youth engagement, backed by data, new programs and growing partnerships aimed at addressing bullying and youth violence while strengthening connections between teens, families and community.

Emily King, the town’s youth community engagement officer, said the challenges facing teens in Gilbert mirror those seen nationwide, particularly around social media, school safety and mental health.

She said the town’s response is built around listening to youth and creating meaningful opportunities for connection.
