Gilbert’s new youth engagement officer wants residents to know something about her job: it is not the magic potion that cures the issue of teen violence in the community.
“It’s going to take a team,” Officer Emily King said. “It’s not just me. I’m not going to be the only one to solve teen violence in our town.”
King was hired for the role last fall as one part of the Gilbert’s package of solutions to address the outbreak that has put the community under a microscope. Her role is to foster relationships with the town’s youth.
