The Chandler rally is set to take place from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 10, at the intersection of Chandler Boulevard and Arizona Avenue, along the northern edge of downtown Chandler.
The release states workers and families nationwide will protest Citgo and Chevron — two corporations it states are being served by President Trump’s unauthorized and illegal military operation in Venezuela.
The release also characterizes DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s ICE “militia” as attacking communities to enrich private prison corporations and Silicon Valley companies that sell surveillance tech.
“Instead of the President sending US soldiers into danger abroad on behalf of oil companies and unleashing reckless ICE agents at home, the millions losing healthcare coverage, facing unaffordable groceries and rent, and lagging wages are demanding the federal government stop costly wars and occupations and take on the affordability crisis and put working families over oil billionaires,” the release states.
The release states protesters will recruit motorists to skip the pump this weekend in solidarity with working families facing an affordability crisis at home.
“With the ICE killing this week, we’ve seen the chaos and pain caused by the agenda of Trump and his billionaire backers,” Greg Nammacher, president of SEIU Local 26 in Minnesota, stated in the release. “While the President chooses to sow division, serve oil corporations like Chevron and Citgo and let ICE run rampant in our communities, working families are making it clear where we stand.”
A December 2025 poll found that 63 percent of voters oppose U.S. military action inside Venezuela, the release states.
