ELECTION 2024

Glendale voters rejecting Prop 499 as most ballots counted

While more votes in favor of Proposition 499, a Glendale-only measure aimed at the hotel and event center industries were counted over the weekemd, the ballot measure still is almost certainly headed to defeat.

As of 3:36 a.m., 44,691 no votes were tabulated (56.84%), as opposed to 33,939 yes votes (43.16%). The county lists 87,727 total votes and  turnout is at 72.83%.

“This is the result we had hoped for. Glendale voters saw how damaging Proposition 499 would have been to their city’s tourism industry, to essential city services, and to their community’s quality of life. This is a victory for Glendale," stated Save Glendale Jobs Chair Kim Grace Sabow in a press release.
