A Chandler man was arrested in connection with shootings at multiple vehicles along Interstate 10 in Buckeye.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said Jasper James Womack, 18, and Orin Alwyn King, 18, were booked into jail Tuesday on charges of drive-by shooting, aggravated assault, and criminal damage.

The alleged incidents occurred around 9 p.m. May 18, when a female driver reported her vehicle had been shot at near I-10 and Watson Road. She recalled hearing a pop and her driver’s side window broke. Inside was her 6-year-old daughter who started crying.

Another called reported her truck was shot at along I-10 as well.

The first victim was able to take a photo of the suspect vehicle’s license plate, registering to Mr. Womack.

DPS determined the type of firearms used were pellet guns. DPS also learned Chandler police recently contacted Mr. Womack on July 12, when he told officers he and his friends had gone to Lake Havasu at the end of May to shoot their pellet guns. Mr. Womack said one of his friends had shot at a parked vehicle at an apartment. Police found multiple pellets inside Mr. Womack's vehicle that were similar to those used in the I-10 shootings.

On Tuesday morning, DPS searched Mr. Womack’s residence in Chandler, where he admitted to involvement in the shootings.

Mr. King was arrested in Ahwatukee, and he also admitted to involvement. Court documents state he, Mr. Womack, and another male bought the pellet guns in Lake Havasu City and then took turns shooting out open windows on the way to Mr. Womack's home.

No injuries appeared to have resulted from the shootings. Damages are listed at about $1,000, records state.

The third alleged shooter remains unaccounted for, although he is named in court documents.

Mr. Womack and Mr. King were jailed in lieu of $10,000 bonds.
