County park in Goodyear offers 2 sessions for homeschoolers

Homeschool students will be able to learn about bugs and more during two sessions this month at Estrella Mountain Regional Park, 14805 W. Vineyard Ave., Goodyear.
The sessions in the Nature Center will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, and Friday, Aug. 26, and focus on the desert's six- and eight-legged creatures.
Both are drop-in sessions, and no registration is required.
“Learn about cool characteristics and survival strategies of arthropods such as spiders, scorpions, beetles and butterflies, and in particular the county parks eco-blitz species of the month – the striped-tail scorpion,” a release announcing the event stated.
Guests will be able to investigate real specimens, complete an insect activity packet, make a take-home craft and take a self-guided exploration walk around the nature center grounds.
