2026 ELECTION

County judge denies CM Turner's challenge of Calles petition signatures

Some signature pages thrown out, enough remain to qualify

A candidate for Glendale City Council will remain on the ballot after a judge rejected a move to challenge signatures on his nomination petitions.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Greg Como rejected Bart Turner’s petition challenge against Glendale City Council candidate Michael Calles' signatures in a ruling April 16.

Turner challenged Calles’ signature attesting that Calles had been the one collecting signatures on every page of his petitions. Barrel District residents signed those petitions for him to qualify for the July 21 primary election.
