Sealed proposals are being sought for Saguaro Drive east-side sidewalk improvements from Broadway Avenue to Apache Trail in Apache Junction, a federally funded Community Development Block Grant project.

Work planned includes curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage, and other street-related improvements as needed by the Public Works Department, according to a public notice.

Contractors desiring to submit proposals may obtain and print bid documents, forms, plans and specifications at ajcity.net/purchasing. Registration on the site is required.

Sealed bids containing one signed original and four duplicate copies of the bid will be accepted in the City Clerk’s office, 300 E. Superstition Blvd., until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, the public notice states.

Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total of the bid, payable to the order of the city of Apache Junction, using the surety bid bond form. Additional information may be obtained from Project Engineer Raquel Schatz at rschatz@apachejunctionaz.gov or by calling 480-474-8549.

The city will conduct a mandatory pre-bid conference beginning at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 27 with an optional site inspection to follow. Interested bidders should meet at the Apache Junction Multigenerational Center, Room B118, 1035 N. Idaho Road.
