Clark: Reader wants more efforts to reduce crime in Sun City
Posted
By Norma Clark, Sun City
I totally agree with the efforts made to reduce crime in our area.
I read the police reports each week and mark the ones in Youngtown and the area from North 106th to North 114th avenues along Grand Avenue. Each of the last three weeks the number of reports has increased. This shows a great step up in patrols and activity from the weeks before.
I was accosted (body to body) on North 111th Avenue while trying to go into a business and I’m still bothered by it. Then I was nearly knocked down at the QT by a guy running out the door. I had to go in to get my gas receipt. I mentioned it to the clerk about why they allowed them to hang out there.
I no longer go out at night and have given up activities that require that I do. I have lived here for 21 years and the last two years the homeless people invasion has drastically changed my life.
I’m 81 and don’t even walk around the neighborhood anymore. It just isn’t safe.
