Becoming a foster or adoptive parent is a huge commitment that isn’t right for everyone, but there is one way to make a life changing difference in the lives of children in foster care from your own home.
Becoming and AASK donor helps kids and teens in Arizona’s foster care system build strong, healthy relationships with caring adults through the foster care, adoption, and mentoring programs. Your support helps kids like Whessyn.
For 2,134 days Whessyn hoped to find a family of his own. While his friends at school grumbled about having to do the dishes or clean their rooms, Whessyn longed for a family who would include him as their own - chores and all.
As a 15 year old, it was difficult for him to maintain hope, but he knew that his AASK adoption recruiter was working hard to make his dreams come true. Then he got the news he had been waiting for.
There was a family for him. A family that encouraged him to express his creativity, help him with his homework when he needed it, and one that was full of love.
In March of 2023 Whessyn was officially adopted into the family he had always dreamed of, and he became the son his family was always missing.
Not only can you help children like Whessyn find their forever families, you can do so at no cost to you through the Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit. Donate before Apr 18, 2023to be eligible for a dollar-for-dollar credit up to $500 when filing single and up to $1,000 when filing jointly.
