Arizona Legislative District 13 includes most of Chandler, Sun Lakes and other small unincorporated patches of southeastern Maricopa County small western parts of the Town of Gilbert.
That district will have at least two new state lawmakers this year, as Sen. J.D. Mesnard is term-limited and Rep. Jeff Weninger is running for mayor of Chandler. Rep. Julie Willoughby is running for Mesnard’s Senate seat.
Current Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke is looking to switch places with Weninger and is running for one of the two Republican nominations for the LD13 House seats. So is Weninger’s wife, Janet, along with Debra Schnike. All three live in Chandler.
