Buckeye suspect charged with firing gun amid New Year’s celebrations

55-year-old man facing felony charges

Posted

Shortly after midnight on Jan. 1, Buckeye police received a report of a man firing a gun outside a window of a home near Yuma Road and 241st Avenue.

Officers arrived at the location and spoke with the occupants, then searched the property and allegedly located firearms and approximately 50 spent shell casings inside and outside the home.

The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Alexander Cain, was arrested without incident on felony charges including unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits.

Firing a weapon to ring in the New Year is not only illegal, but it is also extremely dangerous, Buckeye police notes.

There were no injuries.
