Buckeye PD earns reaccreditation for law enforcement, communication

Posted

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies has unanimously given the Buckeye Police Department its seal of approval for another four years.

It is the department’s third law enforcement accreditation and second for communications, according to a release from Buckeye.

CALEA accreditation is a voluntary process “to ensure an agency’s high quality of service and professionalism,” the release stated.

Accreditation is awarded every four years and involves ongoing documentation and review of policies and procedures, recruitment and staffing, training and equipment and public input to support continued development and best practices for excellence in public safety.

“I’m proud of our team. We have the right people with the right attitude who continue to drive this agency forward,” Chief Robert Sanders said.

“My hope is that reaccreditation signals to our community that we are committed to helping people and meeting the highest standards for public safety service.”

The Buckeye Police Department was originally awarded law enforcement accreditation in 2016 and public safety communications accreditation in 2019. To learn more: www.calea.org.
