Bruce E. Coffin

Bruce E. Coffin, Sr. SUN CITY WEST - Bruce E. Coffin, Sr., passed away suddenly on Friday January 1st, 2010, from heart failure. He was a resident of Sun City West for the past 25 years with his wife Virginia. Bruce was born in Independence, Missouri and attended The University of Kansas in Lawrence Kansas. He graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering and went on to build custom homes in the Kansas City area for 30 years. He was active in the Home Builders Association and was local president for four years. He was a World War II veteran, Prisoner of War and Purple Heart recipient and active in the local Aqua Fria Chapter of Veterans. He raised his family of six in Prairie Village Kansas and attended Village Church for many years. All four children graduated from University of Kansas. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia; their oldest daughter Susan and her husband, Dave Pfanmiller, who reside in Alexandria, Va., Ruth Ann and her husband Bob, who reside in San Jose, Calif., Jane Coffin who also resides in San Jose, Calif., and Bruce Jr. and his wife Sheri, who live in Leawood, Kan. He also has seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and another due in April. He was loved deeply by his family and all that knew him. Services were held Thursday, January 7th, at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans at P.O.
