Eastbound Interstate 10 will be narrowed between 32nd and 40th streets near Sky Harbor Airport beginning Friday night.
State transportation officials said travelers who need to use the area should allow extra travel time.
The road will be narrowed to three lanes for a traffic shift that is part of the I-10 Broadway Curve improvement project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at 32nd Street will be closed for the work, which begins 10 p.m. July 28 and ends 4 a.m. Monday, July 31.
Eastbound I-10 also will be narrowed to three lanes near Elliot Road from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for bridge work connected to the Broadway Curve project.
