Biker injured on Phoenix mountain trail
Posted
INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Members of the Phoenix Fire Department Monday morning rescued an injured female in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.
Early Monday morning, technical rescue crews were dispatched to the area of 9000 N. 40th Street after receiving a report of a injured biker. Upon arrival, about a mile into Trail 100 of the preserve, crews located an injured 31 year-old female mountain biker who had suffered a fall causing minor injuries.
Spokesman David J. Ramirez said that luckily the biker was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
“After medical evaluation crews determined that the safest route off the trail was to initiate the use of the big wheel stretcher, the biker was taken in stable condition to a nearby hospital via ambulance for further evaluation,” he said.
