Bike ride for a cause benefiting veterans, therapy dogs

Assisting a veteran in Arizona is as easy as riding a bike. On Saturday, May 13, join e-bike company Mavric Electric Cycles and Goodwood Tavern for the Scottsdale Charity Bike Ride from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Chaparral Park.

Bring the manual bicycle or e-bike of your choice for a 12.3-mile tour through Scottsdale parks, golf courses, canals and lakefronts, ending at Goodwood Tavern for lunch.

Registration is $20, and proceeds benefit Soldier’s Best Friend, a nonprofit organization connecting Arizona veterans experiencing PTSD and traumatic brain injuries with life-saving service and therapeutic companion dogs. Soldier’s Best Friend has rescued over 200 homeless dogs in Arizona, which are trained to best assist their future veteran owner.
