ASU Art Museum names senior curator

Alana Hernandez has begun working in her new role as senior curator of the ASU Art Museum.

Hernandez will serve as a member of the museum’s leadership team, advancing exhibitions, “curatorial strategy and public realm initiatives within and beyond the museum,” officials said in a release.

Hernandez most recently served as executive director and curator of CALA Alliance where she worked to foster Latinx artistic talent in the Metro-Phoenix region and beyond, according to the release.

In addition, Dulce Juarez has been appointed curator of community and culture.

Hernandez began her role on Sept. 5, and Juarez began her role on Aug. 30, having most recently held the position as co-director at CHISPA Arizona as well as a community facilitator and fundraising consultant.
