Instructors and directors of the Arizona Schools for the Deaf and Blind are ready to take on the challenges of the new school year following their leadership retreat at the state Capitol.
The cooperative program known as the ASDB Itinerant Program has been in effect since 1987.
"Through the program, ASDB instructors and aides help deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind and visually impaired students, who are attending local public schools learn as effectively as their peers," a release from the organization stated.
Participating in the leadership retreat were the supervising teachers of the blind and visually impaired, supervising teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing, an audiologist and regional directors.
About 2,000 students in public schools across the state receive services for the ASDB Itinerant Program.
