Scottsdale teacher in running for national award

Christopher Klugman, a teacher from BASIS Scottsdale has been selected as a finalist for the Bill of Rights Institute’s National Civics Teacher of the Year Award for the 2026-27 school year.

Klugman, a highly respected educator who has been teaching for six years, was chosen after a nationwide search that invited fellow teachers, students, parents and community members to nominate outstanding civics teachers, according to a press release from the Bill of Rights Institute.
