Answer to Richards letter on pets

Posted

Answering the letter Howling mad over canine potty stops, barking (Opinion 11/19/2025):

First of all, our dogs are not possessions, they are a family member. I have lived in Sun City West for over 13 years and watched people walking their dogs, and I would say 99% of them are very good about cleaning up after their pets.

What I think he needs to do is forward the letter to the coyotes, javelinas and bobcats to make sure they pick up after themselves, as there are more of them roaming our area than we have pet owners.  As for howling, these wild animals do much more of that at night, dawn and dusk than any of our doggies. He should be more worried about them than our leashed dogs.

He has every right to put signs in his yard to keep our pets off his property and we pet owners will honor those signs. Otherwise, please enjoy our beautiful area and the weather. Life is too short to be so angry.
