Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s coming to Glendale

Here’s how to fight the battle in the West Valley

Glendale residents can do their part to help the fight against Alzheimer’s.

The annual Walk of End Alzheimer’s starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, and takes place at Heroes Regional Park, at the northeast corner of 83rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. The event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, which kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.

All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer's further the care, support and research efforts of the nonprofit Alzheimer's Association. All donations are tax deductible.

“There is no registration fee for Walk. However, we ask every participant to make a personal donation and commit to raising funds in the fight against Alzheimer's,” the Association states.

Every registered participant who achieves the fundraising minimum of $100 will receive an official Walk to End Alzheimer's T-shirt via USPS. To receive a shirt in time for Walk day, participants must raise the T-shirt minimum at least four weeks prior to the event.
