Payne holds on to lead in GOP primary for Arizona LD27

Race to close to call

State Senator Kevin Payne (R-Peoria) has a lead of less than 400 votes in the most recent election update on Wednesday afternoon posted on Secretary of State Adrian Fontes' election page.

Payne has 7,500 votes (51.1%) in Arizona Legislative District 27 with 7% of the precincts reporting. His predecessor Anthony Kern (R-Glendale) has 7,173 votes (48.9%).

With only 444 votes separating the candidates, the race is too close to call.
