That magical Scottsdale Unified address

OPINION — As a Scottsdale Realtor for the past 55 years, I've learned the three most important things about real estate are: location, location and location. In Scottsdale's case, it relates to the attendance boundaries of the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD).

Buyer, sellers, landlords and tenants prefer to have that magical SUSD address when it comes to real estate because they know our schools are providing the best possible experiences and learning environment for our children. It's a universal truth. You don't have to have kids enrolled in school. The entire community is enhanced and enriched by our superior school system. Property values are higher in communities with the best school systems that are supported by their stakeholders.

Scottsdale's citizens have always had high expectations of their school system and a long history of supporting public education. It's time to step up again and support our schools, our children and our community like we last did in 2016 when we authorized the most recent capital improvements to our schools. The investment is nominal. The dividends are overwhelming.
