State officials discourage suggested Scottsdale zoning

A proposed zoning category called “desert rural neighborhoods” slated to be a part of Scottsdale’s general plan update has received criticism from the state land department.

If approved, the designation would limit areas under this zoning to be large lot, rural lifestyle neighborhoods, which city officials say would be found predominantly in north Scottsdale.
