SPD wants help catching 2 alleged gym locker burglars

The Scottsdale Police Department requests the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who reportedly burglarized several gym lockers and committed credit card fraud.

Six gym lockers --- four in Scottsdale, one in Phoenix, and one in Chandler --- were reportedly burglarized at several health clubs/gyms around the valley between Oct. 2-4, according to a press release from the police department.

Credit cards were mainly stolen in these cases, the report said, adding that the suspects fraudulently used the stolen credit cards on the same day of the burglaries, making purchases at several valley department stores.

The first suspect, last seen wearing a white long-sleeve button down shirt, skinny jeans, with black loafer style shoes, is described as a white male, 25-35 years old, five-feet, 10 inches to six-feet tall, with a receding hairline and short brown.

He has a thin build with goatee/thin beard/moustache, and eyeglasses. He speaks English “eloquently” and possibly had a European or Middle Eastern accent, according to the release.

The second suspect, described as a white or Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, between five-feet, eight inches to five-feet, 10-inches tall, reportedly has a muscular build, dark hair with a scruffy, medium-length beard/moustache.

He was  last seen wearing a black “Under Armor” baseball cap, white earbuds, blue T-shirt, black gym shorts with black leggings, glasses, tennis shoes, and white athletic socks, according to the release.

The two suspects may or may not be working together as the crimes were committed in the same fashion and during the same time frame, the release added.
