Scottsdale school board members support adding teeth to superintendent’s evaluation

Amid an upcoming vote for Scottsdale Schools Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel’s annual evaluation, governing board members are seeking added measurements to justify performance pay.

The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board is expected to vote on Dr. Menzel’s annual evaluation at an upcoming Dec. 14 meeting.

Late last month, the board was scheduled to vote on Menzel’s goals and annual pay plan, but ultimately tabled the action item until Dec. 14, after an impromptu draft of expectations was submitted by Governing Board member Dr. Libby Hart-Wells.
