The Scottsdale Polo Academy has started its spring polo session after a successful fall season that resulted in nearly a dozen polo students returning to the clinic for additional lessons and moving up to the next level.

The Scottsdale Polo Academy is located in the Cactus Equestrian Corridor at SandSpur Ranch at 12302 N. 93rd Street. Additional locations may open with growing demand. The mission of the academy is to give those interested in the sport a chance to learn polo in a safe and enjoyable environment.

“This is a great opportunity for polo enthusiasts to learn everything they need to know about the sport of polo in a safe and fun atmosphere,” Diego Florez, AZ Polo Club president said in a press release. “The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships have a done a tremendous job in raising the profile of polo here in Arizona and as a result we have seen a surge in people wanting to know how to play this amazing sport.”

The Scottsdale Polo Academy will be hosting the Spring season through April. There will be an initial horseback riding evaluation to see where each individual is at on their riding skills. No experience is necessary. The Scottsdale Polo Academy instructors’ goal is to teach the sport in proper way in a safe atmosphere while having fun at the same time.

“This is an incredible opportunity to be able to have polo in Scottsdale for instruction and make it very easy for anyone interested in learning right in the heart of Scottsdale,” Martin Rincon, polo instructor at Scottsdale Polo Academy said in a press release.

The Scottsdale Polo Academy was launched last September and membership has soared.

The Scottsdale Polo Academy offers instruction and scrimmages on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Lessons are given by seasoned Pro-Players. The club has horses available to the students.
